Re: Battery GUY61 4.8
JohnBoy, I deal with Deltec here in Jhb (Alberton)..... https://deltecenergysolutions.co.za/
They have a branch in CT. Carry a variety of batteries. Well priced too. I'm not a fan of Dixon, not a great battery in my opinion, but will function. Give them a call
They will have the 650

Re: Battery GUY61 4.8
Haha
The guys at Deltec and Dixon will obviously not like each other, or there respective products.
To me they both have premium and low end batteries.
But, the main reason why I suggested the Dixon is that although it says Low Maintenance, you can actually top up the electrolyte.
I avoid sealed batteries in a hot engine bay....

Good stuff JohnBoy.
Dungbeetle, yeah I don't mean to knock them down, its just I had a bad experience many years back. I'm sure it was just a hiccup at the time, If they were bad, then they wouldn't still be in business, and they are still going strong.

Re: Battery GUY61 4.8
My battery died in Dinokeng on Friday.
Luckliy not at one of the game sightings we stopped at but at a shop in the reserve
Somebody helped me start and I got to a auto elec in Hammanskraal. Tested alternator and that was fine but battery was dead. Bought a new Willard 650. Did not have the luxury of shopping around. Hope it is reasonable quality. Paid R 1665. Was I ripped off?
