I spent a lot of time replacing all the blown incandescent bulbs in my Patrol with LEDs, but I believe it's worth the hassle. The great thing about LEDs is that they will probably outlast me, and may even outlast my Patrol...

Very nice indeed. Now i want to tackle the globes in the dash gauge cluster. Easy to replace, but nee to get the right LED's

So - I've been waiting for Mr. JP (happy birthday, btw) to come and collect his climate control unit. In the meantime, I've been rolling with the refurb unit in my truck. It's been quite a while now. No issues at all.
One of the possible issues I thought about with the new 3D-printed light bases was potential heat. ie: Theoretically, LED's do not generate much heat, but I had no idea how much heat would be generated. I was concerned that any heat - especially from the resistor as this sits in the base - may cause deformation. I'm happy to say I've had two LED's in newly 3D printed bases running for more than 24 hours whilst mounted as they would be in the vehicle (ie: in an enclosed space - one inserted vertically from the lid, and one inserted horizontally from the side). No deformation. And no issues to report at all.
I've got to get new resistors, and after this I'll be reconning my climate control unit with the new 3D-printed bases.
