Portals is just something that I would love to have, but it doesnt make financial sense to me at the moment. Nice to have, but I think our vehicles with big lifts will have to do for now... Till I win the Lotto :rolling:

Not Patrol related and so figures will be different, but still of use.



The biggest drawback I expected is not even mentioned.

I don't think portal axles ever made financial sense, to anyone, ever! :rolling:
No conventional suspension lift set-up can raise the height of your axle on a solid axle car. Only your tire size can do that.
I have made peace that I will never have a R3m toy.
So to me the trick is to see:
- what you can do with what you have, i.e. how to drive an obstacle, given the geometric attributes of your car,
rather than
- what you can do on your car with your wallet, i.e. how to make your truck even more awesome.

At the end, you will always seek a challenge. The challenge simply becomes bigger once your car's set-up is improved.
