I checked earlier on and it definately has leaf springs at both ends; also checked the seatbelt tag and it is dated 06/1998
Probably a 1998 model then and registerd in 1999 only

Thank you for adding a lot to my learning curve - I enjoyed flying military choppers but know just enough about vehicles and mechanics to be dangerous
I'm communicating with Herrie and will "prompt" him for the electronic manual

It is sad though, I thought it was just the Toyota owners who had reason to gripe about poor service?

My "learning curve" seems to be a bit low/slow - if the VIN no is linked to the engine (and not the chassis?) the Safarai's VIN no wouldn't tell much because of the Chevvy engine

I have a hunch that this Patrol hasn't seen the inside of a dealer's workshop for some time - the impression that I got is that a/the previous owner did most of the maintenance himself and that he was very good at it as well
