River Trip 6-10 August 2015 AKA Die Groot Trek

Postby offroadbiker » 03 Mar 2015 13:38

Roete
Krugersdorp tot by ingang van Molototsi 472km
Petroport op N1 tot by ingang van Molotosi 376km
Molotots so 100km dik sand

Alex,

Sadly, I've got no mixed feelings about Vegas versus River Trip. BlackHat USA (https://www.blackhat.com/us-15/) takes place just before the river trip - as it does every year. And besides that, apart from 2013, I've been going to Vegas every year since 2007 (I think).

To summarise, I'm really not a Vegas person. I would far prefer being with my family and doing something interesting (like heading out to some place I've not been before in my Patrol) then stuck in Vegas...

:(

I'm in, with my lightie - just need to check whether I can get the 6th & 7th off work. Does the direction of travel in the Molotsi riverbed take us close to Eiland in the Hans Merensky Nature Reserve? I.e. we travel in a SE direction.

We will be entering the Molotots before Eiland and traveling past it in the river bed, where we get out of the Molotots it is aprx 40-50km back to the Eiland via the grave road that goes through Hans merensky.
