Unbreakable Patrol keeps breaking
So I have had the Patrol for just over a month and have had more issues in one month than my previous Hardbody's and Sani in 8 yrs........ WTF?????????
Latest is it will not start this morning. All lights come on, motor turns but nothing. Take out a spark plug and no spark!!!
Any ideas??? Sensor????
My normal mechanic and Graham (Pathfinder) are closed until Monday............

Have you got Fuel? If you turn on the ignition (don't turn over the motor) you should hear the fuel pump running from the rear for a few seconds, Also may be a plan to full off the fuel pipe (yours is a 4,5 with carbs yes??) and see if it is pumping through to the carbs

Re: Unbreakable Patrol keeps breaking
Unfortunately the Patrol can also break if it is not properly maintained and unfortunately buying a secondhand car you do not know what the previous owner did with it. You are sitting with the previous owners problems. Hope you can sort it out quickly and cheaply.
The 4.5 is a fuel injected engine. The 4.2 was the last carb model.
Cheers

Re: Unbreakable Patrol keeps breaking
Thanks guys. I smell fuel after taking the sparkplug out so have checked no further on that front. The only thing that I can think of is a sensor that has gone faulty making the ECU not allow it to spark. Only problem is as much as I know the VG30 like the back of my hand I know sh&t about the RB45 and no one around to help today.
I have purposely not posted the other problems as some are caused by someone recommended on this site to the previous Owner and are just K&K workmanship (Not Graham).
The previous Owners had all the maintenance done and I have the records with invoices so not their fault. Just mechanics that do not practice preventative maintenance. I will get that sorted over the next 2 months.
Anyone with ideas on my sensor theory?

Re: Unbreakable Patrol keeps breaking
AFAIK the coil on the TB45 is mounted inside the distributor, and so probably are all the other sensors that make the spark work.

I have a dizzy here, just missing the drive gear at the bottom, if you are interested?
Sorry, I don't know how else to help.
