Oxygen Sensors, MAF sensor?
Hey guys, how do I test these sensors to see if theyre reading properly?? As I have it, and oxygen sensor has a life span of around 100 000km, and in my patrol (204000km), there is no records of ever having new sensors put in. Vehicle is overfuelling as I can smell petrol on my hand when held at exhaust, and I'm using 20.2l/100km. Exhaust is black also. Dealer said its plugs, but the plugs are platinum type and 3000km old. Clearly the dealers don't know very much...
Hope someone can help!! Need to know if I must order new sensors :)
Thanks!
Gavin

Gavin, is that 20.2 l/100km on the open road or in town? If the latter, then it is pretty much par for the course. Do you have tyres with a larger diameter than standard? If so, you must remember that this fact will mean that your odometer under-reads, which must be adjusted for in your fuel consumption calculations.

Re: Oxygen Sensors, MAF sensor?
@Kagiso Haha!! :))
@Tinus Graham is mos in JHB nie waar nie? Wil jy dan nou he ek moet R10 000-00 se petrol uitry om R10-00 op 'n tenk te spaar!? Eks in Nelspruit. Maar gaan so twee keer 'n jaar (twee keer te veel) Pta toe, so sal dalk met my volgende trip 'n draai maak by hom
@Gerrit Daai verbruik was 95% oop pad, alhoewel ek bergpas gery het vir so 45km op, maar het weer afgekom ook so dit behoort mos uit te balanseer?? Ja hyt 119lt gevat, toe ry ek 602km tot hy LEEG was, toe vat hy 122lt. Terloops, terwyl ek opry Steiltes toe hier in Nelspruit, brand my reserve liggie, en toe ek amper bo kom toe splutter en vrek hy amper, hoe klein is daai reserve!?

Re: Oxygen Sensors, MAF sensor?
As others have said: Tyre size is an issue. Secondly, don't expect a grey exhaust with the unleaded fuel we are now using. Your fuel consumption seems to be on par.

Re: Oxygen Sensors, MAF sensor?

Re: Oxygen Sensors, MAF sensor?
Retard timong by 10 degrees and open the spark plug gaps to1,2 mm
