Lesotho Trip - 15th- 17th June 2013
Hi All,
Our friend Vaughn was always our "Lesotho trip man", but unfortunately due to circumstances beyond control, he is a little preoccupied, and rightly so.... Family is the most important thing !!!.... So I have been chatting to Grant, Wimpie, and trying to get a trip together. Here is what we want to do. Unfortunately these dates are different to what is shown on the Events Calendar.
14th June - Arrive at accommodation in Underberg/Himeville on the evening ( we will be leaving after work on Fiday afternoon )
15th June - Wake up early, grab a bite to eat, and drive up Sani Pass ( weather permitting ), and have lunch at Sani Top. (we can chill and relax, or if someone wants to, they caan drive back down Sani Pass, and again back up Sani.... ha ha... you can never get enough play time on those TIGHT hairpin bends especially if there is black ice !!!!!( PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS ). We will then drive through to Mokhotlong and sleep over there at a lodge/hotel ( more info to follow)
16th June - Wake up early, grab a bite to eat and drive through to Afriski for the day. Last year I thought that this was going to be disappointment... Bliksem I was soooooo wrong. I think the adults had more fun than the kids going down the slope on a bum board.... and the costs were VERY AFFORDABLE !!! We sleep over somewhere near Afriski, or possibly Meiringskloof in South Africa ( still working this one out ).
17th June - wake up a little late...ha ha... and meet up in Clarens for a lekker breakfast before heading home at your leisure......
I am busy with this, with Grant and Wimpie, and as we found out last year that accommodation booking in Lesotho can be a little suspect.... So we are trying to make this as much fun as possible. There will probably not be any 4x4 trail driving, other than the Sani Pass, and HOPEFULLY some snow driving.
I will keep you posted.....
