ARB Compressor

Post by hugejp »

Hi Guys..

I recently sent my Diesel in for a front locker fitment, I had planned on fitting a LOKKA.

The fitment shop called me last week to let me know there was a problem with the installation...

"Good day sir, we are unable to fit the locker you supplied because there seems to be an ARB Diff Lock already installed"

So because the ARB is a complete carrier replacement I am kinda stuck with it (not that I am complaining), so I have decided to get it operating again.

Does anyone have any good ARB parts knocking about that may be for sale? I need everything from the diff to the switch - I am particularly looking for a compressor as this is a costly item.

please let me know if you are able to help.

Cheers
J

JP, nou is ek jaloers.

3) Roes.

The ARB compressor on my front locker is a "weak" 35 L p/minute.. Not sure what the pressure required to switch it off must be though.
It pumps for 20 seconds, then stops and the I have front lockers .
THUS I would think ANY compressor on the market will work, as long as the pressure switch works correct.
VERY True what Peter Connan pointed out above.. Where to mount it ? Mine is in the engine bay. Don't like it but got it like that so for now it stays there [it is an ARB darem..]

I have an ARB front locker with the compressor mounted in the engine bay. Two switches mounted under the 12V cig plugs under the aircon dials. One for compressor and one for locker. Just like Kagiso - switch pump on, 5 sec, switch locker on. It switches off almost immediately (compared to the back and forth of the standard rear diff lock)

I reckon the ARB compressor is well worth the expense. it is t he smallest one of the range and you were going to put a lokka in anyway! I have run an extension from the engine bay to the rear tow hitch so that i dont have to open the bonnet to inflate tyres and no longer need an extension to get to the trailer.

I have never had the compressor overheat and I regularly pump from 0,8 bar for all 6 tyres. MTCW

So that it exited at the tow hitch. used a simple door stop as a cover
