Thanks for that info. I was also expecting about 5%-10%, which is makes me doubt the 30% increase quoted by RBTS. In any event they are what they are.

Interesting hat after your stage one you peaked at 500NM and 142KW whereas the highest i seem to read is around 318NM and 131KW. Surely that torque difference points to an issue?

Hey Tinus - did 3 runs before and 4 runs after at SAC Centurion. They were my "independent" baseline. I even did a run in 4x4 high, 3rd gear, for interest.

They were great i.t.o. service. on time, allowed me to be present and were R150 compared to R800 at one other place.

I think at some point you will see that you get what you pay for.

 in principle. But in the aftermarket industry I trust very few. Price itself is definitely no guarantee of quality, nor a necessary ingredient in the equation. Happy to share the things that don't work out :oldtimer: - that's the real value of forums.

Well

Id like to put that R 150.00 into perspective whilst considering all the ancillary equipment that is supposed to be hooked up to your vehicle to properly read what your vehicle is doing throughout its rev range.
Checking timing, fuel pressure, co2 mixtures etc. before even making any adjustments.

So say an average rate is R 750/hr for more specialized workshops …you’re paying for 12 minutes of attention at R150.00

That includes driving you car onto the dyno, strapping it securely, cooling fan put in place and we haven’t plugged in to the Ecu yet.

So, perhaps something to think about?

In other words, I'm not sure what you are getting for R 150.00 other than revving your vehicle on a dyno and then a printout.

Mmm ... were probably in violent agreement. I went to SaC not for tuning but for a prinout of kw and Nm at the wheel. At least they offered the alternative to R800 as the only option from another supplier. Remember that I already had the car tuned for 20k and SaC were just an independent baseline test.

Im just being really dumb here, but I cant work out those graphs at all.

Do you not have a simple graph showing a before and an after run taken on the same dyno?

In terms of the argument on prices and dynos, I dont see the problem with the SAC "cheap" dyno run? All you want to know is what power the car is putting to the road, no need for ECU plugging in etc. All that stuff is for when you actually want to tune the thing on the dyno. For this project we want to see a before and after power figure. Thats it.

Solid Blue Line = RBTS Dyno test BEFORE
Dotted Blue line = RBTS Dyno test AFTER

Solid Green Line - SAC Centurion Dyno Test BEFORE (Its just under the purple line - the Purple line is the database that SAC Centurion has for 4,8L patrols, and is labelled "STANDARD"). The before test for some reason only captured from 3000rpm to 4500.
Dotted Green line = SAC Centurion Dyno Test AFTER

This is the KW graph

This is the NM graph

Agree - to be clear - all my numbers are at the wheel, no arithmetical adjustment for altitude, attitude or aptitude :rolling:
