That video was from inside my car. Fortunately I did not need the tug.

Our outing to Piesangkloof and the associated experience on the trail again confirmed the following to me:

1. Any driver has his/her limits and experience behind the wheel can't be bought or stolen;

2. Any vehicle has its limits - i.e.

2.1 Not even that super kitted Jeep Cerokee made it up the final obstacle the first time;
2.2 The Payero's gave us a good run for our money on surfaces where we cruzed over with our kitted Patrols;
2.3 The standard PF was also keeping us busy;
2.4 The HB without a diff lock also did no make the final obstacle;
2.5 The standard Patrol SUV with a non-working diff lock also had to be recovered on two occasions.

And furthermore - fatigue behind the wheel can cause you dearly....

I hit my rock sliders very hard on both sides of the Patrol on different obstacles later and late in the day - and those hits were not soft!

My focus and attention was definitely not what it should be due to the fact that I was physically tired after a long day in the saddle (09H00 until 17H00) and climbing a good number of hills while assisting other vehicles.

Then - hats off to the manufacturer of my sliders - my vehicle is un-damaged!!

Yip, it was a good recovery training exercise. And the lesson learnt by some - Make sure you have decent recovery points front and back.
