ok.

Ek sien 20w50 multigrade is heelwat goedkoper as 10w40...

But the last time I serviced, the only Helix my local spares shop had was the Diesel version. I took it anyway, as I thought that a bit of extra cleaning couldn't do any harm (my understanding is that the difference between the Diesel oils and the Petrol oils is a bit of extra detergents in the Diesel oils).
.
HX5 (15w40) ?

Tinus, I ended up pulling the sump and strainer, but surprisingly not the slightest bit of sludge. I gooi'd a new gasket and filled up with Motul. I have since figured out there is a loose or dry joint on the dash. When the oil pressure light starts buzzing, I give the dash a slap and it stops. Weird.

I have bought Shell HX5 SN/CF 15W40 today for the Patrol, as the Midas I was at didn't have any Motul 4000 in stock. I'm going back to the mineral oil as I last put Castrol Edge in it, and it smokes a bit on start up (sometimes). I'm hoping this one clears up that issue:

UPDATE: The Shell definitely helps, as the car didn't have a single puff of smoke on start up the whole weekend. Runs as smooth as Zuma at the moment.
