I don't know what Nissan designed it to acheive, and I am not sure exactly how strong it is, as don't know what material it is, but I am fairly sure the breaking load is in excess of 12 tons.

I would be quite happy to use it for snatch recoveries assuming I have a catch rope on a second point.

I am alos quite sure it is as strong or stronger than any aftermarket equivalent I have ever seen. If you want to be really sure, get a second one for the other side.

Thanks Peter. I was just wondering if it's strong enough to use with a snatch (pulley) block. In other words, anything in the order 8 to 10 tons with the average winch.

Pretty sure it is. I have seen it used for some pretty heavy snatch recoveries, which I am sure exceeds the load with a winch and snatch block.
