Not pushuing - just asking: Are you still doing 3D printing? I would LOVE a set of then DATSUN ones for LOBO as he carries the real McCoy NISSAN PATROL STEEL RIMS .. albeit with Nissan I D on them, And LOBO is a DATSUN, mos :oldtimer: :oldtimer:
Oom Mac, yes I am. The biggest hurdle I have, however, is time. It has not been the easiest year for me, and whilst I do print in off-time (it is awesome), I am so behind on things I am not sure how I am ever going to catch up. And something like this take up about 8 hours per cap to do it properly...

Promise that as soon as I am up to date again, I print them.

Hi iandvl

Are you still playing around with steel rim hub cap 3D printing? I wouldn't mind a set for the rear.

I found an interesting logo - for those who don't want "Nissan".

Hi. Yes - I am.

I've got design I think will do the trick, but work and personal issues have been interfering heavily with my hobbies.

I've also got to experiment with printing the centre caps out of better material. The prototypes I've printed in PLA - which is fine for prototyping, but not really for real-world use - especially on vehicles. As it is affected a bit by temperature, UV light and it also partially bio-degradable. I've got to get around to experimenting with printing these using PETG, which is a better material for this specific use-case scenario. But that will take a while.

On a side note, if it's urgent, the NP300 steel rim centre caps (the black plastic ones with an embossed Nissan logo in the centre) fit on the standard Patrol steel rims perfectly. Only the back. The front ones are too small for the hub assemblies. New, the NP300 centre caps cost about R140 at the dealership (I seem to recall). However, considering the number of Hardbodies / NP300s on the road, you'll probably be able to find a set for much less than that at any vehicle breaking yard, like 1-Tonner Spares
