I think it is a good time for an update again, the rebuild is almost finished hopefully will start the engine in the next day or so. Below is a few pictures of the progress. Enjoy :thumbup:

Mooi man daai thermostat housing pyp lyk bietjie sad hoe lyk die area onder die thermostat? Neem bietjie n foto kan hy mooi seel daar?

Hoor met by Michael hy het n paar wat hy mod sodat die gat toe is en jy n enkel aksie een kan gebruik ...die motor het nodig dat die een moet seel sodat die water deur radiator kan gaan kan glad nie sonder een ry nie:thumbup:

Hy lyk glad nie meer mooi nie, alhoewel die binnekant waar die thermostat moet seel nog baie mooi is, ek gaan verseker in die toekoms hom elkgeval vervang :thumbup:

Finally started it up yesterday :blonde: :woo: :thumbup:

Should be taking it for a drive today and do final checks

It is running smoothly when driven, on idle however the rev counter goes up and down few rpm, as the engine makes whooo whooo whooo, idle is not that smooth compared to before rebuild, not sure yet why this is.

Feels a bid stiff but that is most likely how it should be for new engine.

I do think that it is on the lean side, as EGT's is not getting higher than 410deg C 3rd gear flat out 3000rpm uphill, level road so far 5th 120km/hr 350-360deg C EGT.
