I hope that we will have the 4x4 drive area and then the meeting and if all the Patrols go this year is the 66 Anniversary for them.

Re: REVIVE THE CLUB 2017 / 2018
Hallo manne / Hi Gents
Cedric and Theuhan lighted up what the Club should be and what the original idea was.
I am one of the "founder" members way back [almost 11 years ago]
At the time one of the firm view points was that we would NOT be dependent on NISSAN Factory or ANY Nissan dealership to dictate the run of and appearance of the Club. [Contributions and assistance appreciated - but that serves as cheap advertising for them .. NOT a "right" to prescribe to the Club]
I dont "need" the club [This Patrol Forum and the McCarthy 4x4 club I belong to has 10 fold more events than I could dream to attend] It is my attachment to the Nissan / Datsun brand and a care for the environment that urge me to have the Club continue.
TERRANO and NAVARA and HARD BODY and SANI and X Trail owners ... The dream is to unite them in one Club. For knowledge sharing and Out rides and training

Gents you are flogging a dead horse,
Do you see a Toyota club ? No, there is a Hilux club, and a Cruiser club and they have separate forums, events and outings. Do you see a Mitsubishi Club ??? No there is a Pajero and Triton Club. The list goes on and this seems to be the correct recipe for success.

Oom - I think you are getting to the crux of the matter here but it also highlights the problem - The moment you use the brand names Nissan or Datsun they have a say and then the pawpaw hits the fanKagiso II wrote:Hallo manne / Hi Gents

They can't say anything about a forum though and if the forum does or organises something they also have no say.

Re: REVIVE THE CLUB 2017 / 2018
Uncle Mac, I have a whole lot of sentimental attachment to the club, because that is where I started back in 2008, or there-abouts. We had some great times, I got to know many of you on those outings. Nearly every second weekend something would happen. But I must agree with some of the guys out there, that things are/have changed. How many Hardbody/Terrano/Navara drivers are out there, that really need to do things on there own, and could not be incorporated into an event with other makes or models like the Patrols.
I feel very guilty for the way I deserted the club, and still today, I struggle with the fact that I have this wonderful vehicle in the driveway, and I can't use it like I would like to. From where I am sitting right now, I think it is going to take a massive effort, from a very few people, to try and resurrect the club, when we already have an amazing parallel right here. I know I will be sad if the website had to die. It will be the second one that I have contributed a fair amount of time to, where the information will be lost forever.
I wish I could be more involved, but my circumstances just don't allow it. Hell, I'm barely holding onto keeping the Sani in the driveway at the moment. I have contemplated a few times now, to let it go.
I hope things change soon, I miss the friendships and times spent with you guys. It's only forums like this that really keep my dreams alive. I don't care what the name may be, or what form the "club" may take.

Oom
Ek weet dit is nie makik om 'n datum te kry nie, en ek ondersteun Oom se sentiment vir hierdie inisiatief.
Die Rust de Winter trip is op daardie naweek.
http://www.patrol4x4.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=7312
So daar is 15 forum lede wat ek weet dit nie gaan kan maak op hierdie datum nie.
Moenie dit verander net om my ontwil nie. Ek noem dit maar net.
