GRX 4.5 electrical question
I am having a hard time with a slight misfire on my TB45 motor. It starts very rough and I have a cylinder down up to 4000 rpm and then it kicks in. I have replaced plugs, cleaned electrical connectors, cleaned the MAF. I am suspecting the tps as the gear changes are erratic sometimes. I have a blue plug connector on the engine that goes nowhere... Does anybody know where it goes? Thanks

Re: GRX 4.5 electrical question
I will check that plug this evening on mine.
A likely cause however is your HT leads.
Put your vehicle in a very dark place this evening, open the bonnet and start the vehicle. Climb on a chair or something (very important as you are unlikely to see anything from normal level) and look at the leads and see if you can see any electricity running around the cord/s. If so your HT leads are kaput.

Re: GRX 4.5 electrical question
Sticky valve -- chase ATF in the tank when it is about 1/4 ... replace engine oil with cheapest DIESEL OIL you can find
Drive that tank tiol emty. Pump clean feul over from SUB tank.. At home change the diesel oil back to your regular oil
[Advice I got in Botswana in August on that trip for James who gave me very sick Patrol to travel with.
AND IT WORKED .. [4.5 Patrol with close to 400,000 km on]

I would definitely do a compression test before trying something as drastic as this...Kagiso II wrote:Sticky valve -- chase ATF in the tank when it is about 1/4 ... replace engine oil with cheapest DIESEL OIL you can find

May be wrong but I think all the 4.5's have that electrical connector going nowhere!

Re: GRX 4.5 electrical question
Okay, quick update. Problem is fixed. The one wire on no6 injector was nipped. I have no idea how but she pulls like a train now. I have 500ml of synthetic 2SO in the tank to loosen up any potential sticky bits.
Popped into the dunes this afternoon and what a pleasure !
Thanks to all.
