Oh - forgot to mention. You probably do not want to run in 4H on tar in any case. And please remember to stop before shifting to 4L.

Ek is maar aan die dom kant as dit by die tegniese kom - bedoel jy dat in 4x4 dit slegs as die hubs op auto is die klak geluide sal maak (gly) en nie as dit gelock is nie. Indien dit die geval is het ek seker 'n bietjie prematuur opgetree om die ander hubs te bestel want ek lock ook as 'n reël my hubs as ek oorskakel na 4x4 H of L  en is om die hubs te vervang in daardie geval mos onnodig.

Sorry. Het dalk U oorspronklike pos misverstaan. Lees nou dat jy nie kans gaan kry om die nuwe hubs in te sit. Het oorspronlik gelees dat daar dalk nie kans gaan wees om te lock of nie. Verskoning. Ek is dalk deur die blare.

Ek dink jou hubs kort dalk net 'n oordentlikke diens.

Maar as 'n Nissan-werktuigkundige vir my so iets se, gaan ek vra dat hy dit op skrif sit, en hom mooi verduidelik dat die rekening op SY kop gaan wees as die goed breek.

Watse strooi is dit?

Just a bit of side info....

If you very rarely use 4x4 H or 4x4 L then in my opinion, it is a good idea to lock your front hubs, and drive in 2x4 (NOT 4x4 H or 4x4 L ) if on tar for a few km, on the odd occasion, just to mix up the diff oil around the gears. Only when you move the 4x4 lever into any other position other than 2x4 ( or neutral ) will you get drive from the transfer case to the front wheels if the hubs are locked or in Auto.

On manual hubs the the principle is the same as above, just you have to get out the car to manually lock the hubs.

You will feel a slight difference in steering feel. It will feel slightly heavier, and you will probably use a fraction more fuel as the diff and prop shaft drain some power from being driven by the front wheels being pushed in rotation from the road.

It will definitively not do any damage to the drive train ( as long as you are not on a tar road in 4x4 H or 4x4 L )

Cedric, not only is this your opinion, it is shared by Nissan engineers.

To the point where it is stipulated in the manual...
