Air thermometer internal and external

Post by Rodney »

Having experienced 51degC in the Namib last year we are keen to install a digital thermometer in the troll. OLX and other sites have cheapies but closer examination indicates accuracy factors of 3 to 5 deg C, and often battery operated. So far unable to find a local supplier for something more reliable and 12V. Ideas?

My 4.2 diesel is also a GL model so doesn't have the roof console with the compass and outside temp. I managed to get hold of a console from a scrapped Patrol a few years back and with the help of Christoslang ( electrical genius  ) and his step by step guide to installing it, I now have the compass and map lights and accurate thermometer for outside temps. Inside temps is unfortunately not on thew console. This is at least one idea...

Thanks Cedric. I will look for a console. I find it difficuly to believe that such a simple thing as a thermometer is so difficult to find. Even VDO in PED dont have!

Its dead easy to fit...... BUT take big cahoonas to cut the roof lining..... :rolling: :rolling: .... but trust in yourself and measure twice and cut once and you will be so upset that you never did this sooner.
