And that is all I have to show.

The bad news:
I travelled a total of 6773km, but I budgeted only 5602km. Thus, we did a lot more in game drives than anticipated. My total average fuel consumption was around 4.2 km/l, which is probably not bad considering that I towed a trailer, and that there was some pretty sandy going in there. Interestingly, on the Khowarib Schluscht section (from Okaukeujo to Palmwag), Gerrit and I had exactly the same consumption, to the litre.

Total budgeted accomodation was R20 490 (all 8 people). We over-spent on this too, since we had to pay double accomodation for three nights.

Total actual trip cost was somewhere around R78k. It's not cheap to travel! But I do reckon it was worth every cent.

Between the two of us, we carried three jerry cans. One was stolen in Uis, but we never needed them. We found fuel fairly easily obtainable in the areas we went. We had one puncture, one broken exhaust and one radiator problem (I believe this was caused by a fan blade that had broken off in the Khwai river four years ago and gotten stuck in the top of the radiator shroud at the time, and had during this trip rattled loose due to the corrugations, caught a whack from the fan (there was a chip in one blade) and been propelled into the radiator at a vulnerable spot).

In Gerrit's trailer, there were two broken bottles of Chutney and probably about 6 milk carrtons that wore through at various times during the trip. In my trailer, nothing. And since I drove lead, I always caught the wash-aways first, and at speed, and gerrit had enough warning to slow down. Thus, I do believe that, conceptually, my trailer proved itself. It also proved to be surprisingly resilient.
