Recerntly when we were in Richtersveldt with oom Kobus' 4,5 GRX Patrol aka UNGILI, it came up which octane to put in
I had a quick peek at the NAAMSA site today and here is what it says:

FUEL COMPATIBILITY DATABASE SYSTEM
Firstly, please select the MARKET in which your vehicle falls: eg Passenger, Light Commercial or Medium Commercial
Then select from the next dropdown box for the MAKE of your vehicle.
Then select from the next dropdown box for the TYPE of your vehicle (eg FORD Focus).
Then click the SHOW MODELS button. Upon clicking this, your results will appear.

Vir die 4.5 Patrol gebruik jy 93 petrol in areas wat 93 en 95 petrol het en in die areas wat 95 en 98 petrol het gebruik jy die 95 petrol! :thumbup:

So lyk Uncle M se prentjie meer verstaanbaar...

Soos ek lees is dit standaard 93 in die binneland en 95 by die kus vir my...

Ek gooi die vinnigste oktaan petrol in...... :blonde: :blonde:

ek wil ook net se dat ek het so twee maande terug 40 lt racing fuel ingegooi ...groot verskil in krag en 6.9km/l gekry met rooftop tent oppie dak

Is 93 "leaded" en 95 "unleaded"? of is alby "unleaded"? :think:

Albei is teoreties beskikbaar in "unleaded" en LRP, maar meestal is dit deesdae net unleaded.

Mens kan lankal nie meer "leaded" petrol koop nie.
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.

Daar is nie meer lood in brandstof nie Fanus so alle brandstof is tegnies "unleaded"

Ek het errens gelees dat die enigste rede hoekom "nuwe" voertuie nie brandstof met lood kan gebruik nie, is agv die "catalytic converter". Is dit so?
m.a.w n voertuig wat nie 'n cat op het nie sal alby kan gebruik? (dis nou as mens nog brandstof met lood gekry het)...
