Anybody read the very last article about a Graham Cumming driving a Landcruiser (p98)

Must be 2 of them as firstly our Graham wont be driving such rubbish and secondly a Patrol does not get stuck........

Dink Graham (of eintlik ons almal), sal ook 'n "patrol" sticker op die deur moet plak vir mense wat nie die verskil ken tussen 'n land cruiser en 'n PATROL nie... :surprised:
Iemand het my eendag gevra of my vrou 'n pajero ry....... :redface:

Ek hou van Faan se patrol stickers op sy deur...ek soek ook. (blaai nou deer die nuwe weg ry)...

Another photo of a Patrol in this same issue. Just by looking at all the jerry cans on the roof I'm guessing it's a 4.8 :lol:

Tinus hoe reg is jy nie... Datsun/Nissan Suid Afrika het al n klomp puik produkte gelewer... Dink bluebird, 1600 circa 1969-72, die hele reeks L series enjins,eerste patrols, Safari's en TD 42 series, cabstar series, en nog 'n paar. Hulle het die hele ligte bakkie mark gehad met die 1200/1400 en nooit gesien die ander manne bring ook die goed op lyn nie. Die Safari reeks was 2 keer tussen 1981 en 1990 in totale limbo, discontinued... en dan weer opgetel en verkoop. Toe kom die patrol bakkie, Hy het eintlik verdwyn nog voor hy die mark gesien het. Ek het n maand terug een naby Hoedspruit gesien. Dit was die enigste een wat ek gesien het in lewende lywe op die pad. Natuurlik ditto vir die patrol reeks. Die spreekwoord se "salig is die wat in hulle slaap opelyf geniet, want hulle hoef nie te druk nie"... So dan is Nissan SA.

Sover ek onthou was Datsun in die RSA voor Toyota. Hulle is soos impotente Sjeiks in n harem. In Australiee ry tot die Toyota manne Nissan Patrols. So ook in Arabia en Indonesia/Maleisia.

Ek het jare lank die Safaris en L Cruisers parallel gebruik by my lugboormasjiene en die safari was die beter produk ten tye circa 1981-1990

Die enigste voordelige newe effek vd die bemarkingstragedie is dat ons die puikste produk kan aankoop op die 2de handse mark vir 'n baie billike prys in vergelyking met n L/cruiser.
Die nadeel is dat jy ewig op soek is na vrekduur onderdele wat jy vooraf moet betaal ...en lank voor wag nadat jy die counter salesman n edikasie gegee het oor wat jy eintlik soek. Hulle vakdiepte is f@kk%l.

Ja, ek weet nie waar Evan aan "Du Plessis" gekom het nie maar gelukkig het hy darem geskryf - Nissan Patrol en nie Toyota Patrol nie :lol:
