Clutch kit TD42

Post by Rudolph »

Morning all,

Need some help from the guru's please. I want to replace the clutch on my TD42, I will have to go aftermarket as funds is limited. I have got the following clutch kit quotes.

Valeo Korea NS20 @ R3200 incl vat - from Abes

LUK R222MK @ R5556.78 incl vat - onlinecarparts - http://www.onlinecarparts.co.za/en/engi ... 222mk.html

Can anyone verify which kit or both are correct for the TD42, 1991 model? Have anyone installed either of these 2 kits?

Many thanks.

Hi Rudolph

Ek het vir jou n email gestuur ivm hierdie clutch kits.

I prefer the genuine Nissan kit which sells for R5,315 from the dealers. This includes the release bearing, clutch plate, and pressure plate as well as VAT. I replaced mine over the weekend and WOW what a difference!!

They should give you 10% discount if you ask nicely which makes a difference.

Dankie Michael,

Het email gekry, vir daardie prys kan mens verseker gaan vir die genuine ene. Ek het nie gedink dit gaan min of meer dieselfde prys wees nie.

So the GQ and GU TD42 takes the same clutch kit?

Ek het op sy VIN nommer gekyk, dis ander part nommers so ek weet nie wat presies daar kan verskil nie. Ek het ook gedink almal is dieselfde.

I know Terrain Tamer does a Safari Tough clutch, which is a beefier heavy duty clutch for the Patrol.
Maybe get a hold of Marino4x4 for pricing.

I did ask him he will get prices for me, but thing is I can get Nissan kit for very reasonable price R5000, so I'm looking at genuine parts at the moment.

The Safari Tough is around R12500 from Abes.
