Re: TD42 front and rear brake disc sizes
Good day Cedric
I am sure we can arrange a discount for forum members, no matter the quantity.
I will just need to know how many members are interested to ensure I import enough rotor sets. I have some disc pads in stock at this moment, but if I can get the quantities I will import the rest of the pads. I can supply these through the forum at R2200 for the front set and R1800 for the rear set. I will supply the pads at R550 for the front and R550 for rear. I will make the front+rear disk + front+rear pads available at R5000 for this complete order. (Prices will change after this order due to exchange rates and cost of parts in Australia). We can make 31 March the cutoff for the order. It takes 6 weeks to import goods via sea freight, so it will take +- 8 weeks to deliver after the order was placed in Australia.
We import and sell Terrain Tamer parts from Australia. The have almost 50 years experience in automotive parts. They developed and sell their own parts and pride themselves in having OE spec or better parts. They re-design the parts in order to make them stronger if there is a weak point in the parts.
Sorry for the size of the file. These pads are designed for 4x4 conditions and perform well in hot, cold, dusty and muddy conditions with the added benefit of performing excellent in day to day conditions.
They do have heavy duty parts, but these are not available for the Patrols.

Re: TD42 front and rear brake disc sizes
That is a very good deal.... I'm definitively in for the complete set of front rotors and pads
I just want to recheck the rear discs tonight, and will confirm with you tomorrow.
I doubt anyone will be able to even get ALFA rotors delivered for that price !!!
Thank you for your input and assistance !!

Re: TD42 front and rear brake disc sizes
I got a price from Vari Racing for just the front discs..... I suppose if you wan racing discs then it a good option, but for our 4x4's I don't think they are worth the extra price difference. ( R3700 EXCL vat for a set )
Who else would be interested in doing a group buy for these. I'm sure on average our Patrols are all around the 200 000 Km mark and probably never had the discs changed. I've actually had a front brake pad fall out once while turning a corner, and I think if I'm not mistaken it was on the Patrol. It was my fault though as I let the pad wear out till the outer lip of the rotor ground quite a bit on the pad metal back plate. The metal "ear" that keeps the pad in place somehow managed to slip off the face that it slides on and plopped out onto the road..... friggin scary stuff !!!... the pad itself still had about 2-3mm odd brake compound on but due to it sitting on the inside of the wear pattern of the pad on the rotor, it seems like it managed to twist itself and push the plungers back sufficiently to allow the pad to be completely loose and simply fall out !!
At that stage I was too lazy to put new rotors on, and simply put new pads

Re: TD42 front and rear brake disc sizes
hmmmm..... the rest of my post has gone missing.....
@ marino..... I am going to have to get a set of pads quickly as mine I don't think will last 1000Km. Maybe I must get the pads from you now and fit them with my existing rotors and then when the new rotors come, just change the rotors out and reuse the pads. How quick can i get the pads and must I order them through your website ( http://www.terrainparts.co.za ) or from here?
Is that price delivered or how does it work? I'm a first time buyer with you?
Ok, so here is the list if anyone wants to get the rotors and pads
(FRS) = Front Rotor Set
(RRS) = Rear Rotor Set
1) Ricster - (FRS) + (RRS) - no pads

Re: TD42 front and rear brake disc sizes
Ok silly question..... Are they slotted or plain smooth rotors..... I'm just dreaming that my Iron Maiden will look so cool with slotted brake rotors...... I would probably have to paint the calipers red or something if they are....

Re: TD42 front and rear brake disc sizes
Hi Cedric
Sorry, they are plain rotors. Terrain Tamer do not have the heavy duty rotors available for the Patrols.
