May I suggest that if all goes well and we have completed Baboons by the 5th that we go and have a look at Letele Pass? It is about 190 km away.

I cannot see the harm done in a "look / see" detour.
Those that are in a hurry can go straight home.

My understanding of Letele is that it is a big collection of boulders masquerading as a pass.
It should not be done without 35" tires and lockers all round and probably comparable to Carnage Canyon in terms of difficulty and likely damage

Great. "Look /see" as "It should not be done without 35" tires and lockers all round and probably comparable to Carnage Canyon in terms of difficulty and likely damage". And the same guys said you have to have front and rear lockers for Superman!!!!

I drove Baboons pass in a 2.7 Nissan Terrano (LWB) without any lockers/ LSD nor rockslider. I'll post some pics later.
