Weber carburettor SGL 1995
Although I have learned a lot by browsing on this site in the past I finally got to register on this forum.
Driving a Nissan Patrol SGL 1995 4.2 for the last 12 years, I have been told to fit n Weber carburettor to end the problems that's been occurring lately.
Please assist in where to get hold of the Correct Weber with adaption and whatever else needed to make this "'beauty" run like new again?
Please also advice what is n reasonable price to pay.

Welcome josh had one for sale a while ago .....sure its still avalable .
Mabe give carburettor guys a call for correct jetting ect ..

Kyk gerus hier gebruik gerus die soek funksie regs bo deur sleutel woord in te tik soos weber ....dit maak jou soek maklik.

Weber maak baie goeie vergassers, maar hulle is nie so kompleks soos die voertuig se standaard vergasser nie, en ek is seker daar is 'n prys om te betaal, soos swakker verrigting op hoe plekke en probleme teen steil hellings...

Current problem - jerking whist driving, sometimes backfire. Black smoke when start-up and idling
.Air flow adjustment not working no matter what why it is turned.
Heavier on fuel (than usual) not as much power.
Apparently inside of Nicky carburettors wears out over time. This is the 2nd Nicky that I have tried - no success. Any advice though? Much appreciated.

What is the mileage Willemien?
The only things that can "wear out" are the jets and the butterlfy shafts and their holes, and the linkages. In theory, these can all be repaired or replaced, but I guess finding somebody who can do it properly is getting tough.
Carb kits with replacement jets, gaskets, needle and seat and idle mixture screw are reasonably easy to find: SP Carbs here in Kempton stock them.
However, before we get there, are all the vacuum pipes connected in the correct order and in good condition? If these are wrongly connected it could cause all those symptoms.
Somewhere on this forum there is a down-loadeable manual.
The next question is, how do you use the vehicle? are any of the possible problems I mentioned before going to affect you?

just google carb centre and they are reasonable.....

My GQ has the weber conversion on it, it was done by the previous owner, Im not 100% why, I think it was for better fuel consumpt?
Anyway, I don't have any major problems with mine, other than it has a very very slight miss when idling that I find extremely irritating. I don't think most other people would even pick it up, but it irritates me to no end.
Something to think about - each time I talk to Graham at G-tech he mentions that we should look at putting the standard ones back on as there is the issue of fuel starvation (or is it flooding? I cant remember?) on very steep inclines. I haven't had to do any very steep ones, so haven't experienced the issue, but Graham is adamant about it.
Personnally I would actually prefer to have mine put back to standard just so it is standard again. But then again if it aint broke, don't fix it.
