Take that original fitting off and inspect it! Have a good look at those welds.Herrie wrote:Nissan told me that the standard one of the Patrol can take 10 tons for recovery!!
I do not for one moment believe that fitting will take the load repeatedly. It is just too light and the welds just don't seem to be adequate. I am not an engineer and others will differ with me, but I will stick to my guns. To this end I have fitted Tinus' fitting which is far more robust and load tested by PC.

Ek het al tot hierdie swaar trok in Botswana met daardie standard hook gesleep toe hy diep in die sand vas gesit het!!!!
Die selfde dag het ek voor hom 'n Hardbody uit gesleep en na hom 'n Land Cruiser wat ook vas gesit het.

Towing is one thing, snatching is completely another. Stupid high forces involved. I watched a youtube clip somewhere where they measured the forces during a snatch recovery in different conditions. Snatching a 2.5 ton vehicle out of bogged mud was some ridiculous force. Like 30 or so tons. I cant remember exactly

Kobus daai standard loop op die y61 lyk net nie reg nie ....vir 200 rand voel ek baie meer gelukkig met die sterker punt ...daai ronde loop is nie eers geweis nie almal se krimp verskil ek sal versigtig wees vir hard werk met hom
