GQ brake pads
Looking for a set of front brake pads for the GQ, but it must include the anti rattle jobbies as these are currently not on the vehicle and has been driving me nuts for a year now.

Re: GQ brake pads
I had the same problem with a Sani many moons ago and could not get the clips with pads. Eventually found them at a place that did brake hoses etc which I think was in Centurion.
Bottom line is try get them seperate from a component supplier rather than a pad supplier. And Google she do not help. You have to phone around.

Re: GQ brake pads
So I was not very happy with my front brakes, even though it was the aftermarket ones from Power brake.
Phoned them and it is R1,105 just for a set of pads - so I will be giving a set of Ferrodo's a chance.
I went from my old GQ with standard brake setup to this GQ with the Power brakes so I could compare the two and the current Power brake setup never felt as good as the standard setup, so I hope the ferrodo's will be ok with the Power brake disks.

Re: GQ brake pads
Dirk, as far as I know you can only get those anti rattle kits from Nissan. You will not regret fitting Ferodo, I anstalled them front and rear a while back and my abs actually kicks in with the 33" tyres so I am very impressed.

Re: GQ brake pads
Dirk and try not to get the Platinium from Ferodo as they are very hard and need high temp to work and will also wear the disc's.

Re: GQ brake pads
A 4.2 diesel with ABS?? I think you are a very lucky man. None of the GU 4.2 diesels I know of have ABS. I may be wrong, but I don't even think the 4.5 petrol GU ( only the GL model and not the GLX model ) came out with ABS.Michael wrote:Dirk, as far as I know you can only get those anti rattle kits from Nissan. My 1998 4.5 GL has no ABS. One of the main reasons why I bought it over a GRX which all have it,ricster wrote:A 4.2 diesel with ABS?? I think you are a very lucky man.
