Dis wat ek ook gedink het, My pa ook vir my gese die Thermostat kanie reg wees nie, daar loop dan n bypass terug engine toe of so iets maar toe need ek foto, as ek so na die foto kyk dan gan die Thermostat met daai extra plaatjie onder nie werk nie... of altans ek kanie sien hoe hy gan werk nie. ek sal gou upload

hier is hy, jy kan sien waar die ou Thermostat gedruk het onder. Nou ek weet van die nuwe kare kry n Thermostat van daai extra plaatjie onder het, maar soos ek gese het myne is nog die gewoone shape een.

Tuners/mechanics love to advance the timing on this engine as far as 10 deg as there is more power and better consumption but they do not test it under load. As soon as loaded the pinging starts with all the problems that go with.

Piet says 5. I say 6 to 6,5 but rather start with the conservative 5 and see what happens.

The weekend after this one, my dad wants to go to Pretoria, i think the best plan will be to take it easy until there so i can go and see Graham Cumming and just ask him to go through everything for me.
People here in Vryheid don't really know these cars alot. I'd rather have someone with knowledge check it out for me.

Just have that timing done before coming up as the higher the altitude the worse the pinging and you may do damage.

Looking at the photo of the thermostat housing, this engine doesn't have the bypass hole in the housing.

Looking at the manual, I can't see any sign that the thermostat needs to be double-acting, so it could be the correct thermostat.

I have never worked on a 4.5 thermostat housing has it also got a double acting one that needs to close one channel so water can all go via radiator?

Ok Louis ek het na my spaar housing gaan kyk ,daar is nie n dubble acting thermo nie maar wel n 82' thermo in

Volgens die manual:
Standard is 80 grade
Tropical en midde-ooste is 76.5
Cold weather is 82.
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.
