Bit off topic, but is there a thread or youtube video somewhere on how to do this?

Hi Oetie

Let me give feedback on the Navara. We were all a bit concerned about the fact that the Navara has such a huge foot print i.e. wheelbase length and also it carried a significant load as well - there were 120 l water in the back alone!

Initially the drivers struggled to get to grips with the diesel in the dunes but hey - all of us struggled initially - as the time went on they got to grips with the vehicle dynamics and by the last two days they were really doing well.

In one of the huge "play holes" between the dunes an experienced driver took the Navara through it and guess what - successfully through first time - these holes are done at full throttle from the start and back!

The picture below will give you an idea of such a play hole - spot the tracks on the opposite side of the dune belt to my left...

The Navara got stuck a few times but so did many a car (even our Patrol and the Guides as well) - if that Navara had an aftermarket suspension kit i.e. Camel it would have been a totally different story.

Very interesting - during one of the days in the dunes we had a "quarter mile sprint challenge" on a large slightly uphill open space between the dunes and guess what - the Navara out run all the vehicles in the group by a good car length.

Hallo Jorrie/Ian

Ek het 10 Jerry's saamgery so in total so naastenby 335 liter en ja, dit het ons deurgeneem Walvis toe - ek het 106.95 liter in Walvis ingegooi so ek het nog so 29 liter in die tenk gehad na die woestyn ryery.

Thank you for the feedback on the Navara George, much appreciated. Now I have no excuse to take the Pathy to the dunes.

Day 4 - 6

These days were spent on route through the desert and due to the continuous strong winds we decided to sleep over in a tented camp during these nights.
