I must say I am very happy with my system that screws onto the valve rather than inside the wheel.
It gets locked with a miniature type Allen key, so cannot be stolen easily (which would otherwise have been the only potential disadvantage).

The two big advantages though, over the rim internal type as shown here, is that you can chop and change and add easily (from one car to another, or to your trailer) and the battery is cheap and quick to replace. Replace a battery on the one in this picture requires taking off the tyre. :mytwocents:

What are the price differences on the two systems (INT & EXT mount)?

I have had internal and external ones and would not spend money on external ones again .pro and cons are:
1) my externals got stolen 2 times
2) lost a sender on bad roads 2times
3) cannot see the pressure inside car when deflating tires oor pumping wheels
4) dont want to get out allen keys every time i change wheel pressure
5) had a hassle with vale leaking from the cap be course it kept the valve open to read pressure

I have had the internal ones on my 4.8 and my old hilux now on my 4.2bakkie for about 3 years or more and no problems at all .
If you look at the one for R1500 it is priced very good .
For 2 grand you get a colour monitor and reverse camera with parking sensors......not bad at all :mytwocents:

Not all of us spend our time in dodgy areas where our stuff gets stolen doing donuts to loosen everything and sit in the car monitoring proceedings while kippy inflates or deflates our tyres for us :rolling:

Where do you get that kit for R2000, I have external ones and have not had problems, but I like the sound of the rear view camera and parking sensors, the patrol is not an easy beast to park at a busy parking lot!!
