Dirk, I really like that idea of a gull wing window for the kitchen. Have you any pics of someone who has done it for me to get ideas. I will be 66 in January and dont know how long I want to be folding my roof top tent up and am also thinking of sleeping inside. What about raising the Patrol roof slightly?

Regards.

Barry

If you intend to raise the floor in order to accommodate a drawer system; then I would think that the remaining room / headroom will not be enough to to get into the car without difficulty.
You think so?
I will keep this in mind and do some measuring.
The last thing I want is my nose touching the roof when I lie in it.

Hallo Graham,

I think... to be ergonomically viable, one should be at least able to sit upright (to get easily in and out and to change clothe etc.) ... otherwise its becomes like cave- crawling. (men's-cave) ....

I have a drawer system in my Patrol, and when I lay my rear seats flat the top of the seats and the drawer system are level. If I sit on my ass on the drawers my chin will sit on my chest, add to that a minimum of 50mm of thin camping mattress ( which I'm guessing you will definitely want thicker, it will become very uncomfortable to manoeuvre to even climb into a sleeping bag or bedding. The taller you are the more this exacerbates the issue.

The other problem them becomes ..... where the heck do you put the fridge and more importantly the Klipdrift Premium......hahaha
