Hi to all,
My Patrol's front right brake hose line has a crack and in need of replacement. Does anyone know where to source these hoses, or can it be made up at a hydraulic shop if I take the hose to them? I will replace both right and left side while busy.
Thanks
Rudolph

Re: Front Brake Hose Lines
Most hydraulic places will be able to make them from a sample. I suggest you check there length at full suspension droop (i.e. are they stretched or not) and use the opportunity to make them longer if required.

Re: Front Brake Hose Lines
Yeah any Hydraulic hose company can make them up. I would make them at least 1" longer, and possibly get them to make it out of steel braided hose for extra strength.....
however.... braided hoses don't twist very well, so full lock to full locke on the front can be a problem. There needs to be loop in the hose to cater for the twist, otherwise you will just kink the hose and create bigger issues

Re: Front Brake Hose Lines
Guys the GQ has three flexible hoses on each axle.
One in the middle, which goes into a t-piece mounted on the axle. From there there is a metal pipe to just inboard of the hubs, and another flex hose on each end, from there to the brake caliper.
There is no point in making the end brake hoses longer, but if the end hoses are in poor condition, it may well be a good idea to replace the center tube at the same time. This is the one which can be made longer if more flex is required.
As everyone has said, any good hydraulics shop can make these up, but quality does vary. I have so far been very happy with Flex-a-hose.
