Injector Pump Leak
Hi guys,
I've just got back from a month long 8500km overland trip through namibia and botswana. No problems whatsoever.
Been back for 2 weeks and yesterday my injector pump seemed to start leaking . I noticed fuel on my front diff and traced it to the pump. Cant see where its coming from though.
What should i do?
Anyone know a reputable place in Cape Town to take it to. I cannot be without my vehicle for long. But, i think they will have to remove the pump, as i suspect they will need to replace the gaskets and seals.
Rather annoying.
Advice welcome.

Re: Injector Pump Leak
Have it diagnosed ASAP. My 2.7 started leaking where the throttle shaft goes into the pump. Problem is that at some stage it starts pulling air back through the same seal into the pump. It ate the inside of the pump up in no time.
Original repair would have been around 2K. But with the entire pump innards having to be replaced, it came to 4K.
Hope you get it sorted soon.

As for the trip report, yes, i'll work on one soon. been crazy back at work and going through a very difficult personal issue, which has taken the wind out of my sails. I WILL try my best, but just bare with me guys. thank you.

Re: Injector Pump Leak
Finally getting around to sorting out the injector pump leak.
I have not called Fanus yet, but i literally just went wast Bosch in CT.
Apparently its leaking at the top shaft.
Rough quotes:
Remove and refit - R3500.00
Full overhaul : R5500.00
or
Seal Kit: R3000.00
Scary shit.
He said i should maybe do injector tips/ nozzels which includes lap the port and clean etc...
R6500.00
It all seems crazy to me if i'm honest. Still, better than a common rail diesel, but ja. I'll be looking for another quote etc.
So basically...:
R10k for pump removal and overhaul or
R16K for pump removal and overhaul as well as injectors etc.
