Re: Tinus se 4.2TD bakkie!!
The size of the diff doesnt affect the ratio's within. However, as per my earlier post, it is definite that the pickup uses the H260 full floater rear diff and runs 4.111 gears. The rear diff on the wagon may well be the H233 , and as i stated, i predict it to be 3.9 gears.
Micheal, i will investigate and post pics of how to work out your original dif and gearing. Will post tomorrow.

Agree. but the 4.2 Petrol runs with the 3.9 ratio, and the reason why I could not swop the Petrol diff with the ARB locker from my "old" GQ to the "new" diesel GQ.Russ Kellermann wrote:The size of the diff doesnt affect the ratio's within. 3.9 diffs also easy to get a hold of but try and get a 4.1 diff... need one to swop out with my LSD, to date no luck.

Also something to look for is whether it has a limit slip diff our not ,the old Patrol pickup ran lsd and the rear diff housing is much bigger than the front that's without the lsd
I have got spare front and rear diff for patrol pickup....

It pains me to say this, but this bakkie makes my GQ look like it's looking for parking...

Tinus lotz wrote:Piet daai bakkie loop lekke en is leeg....ek dink die suv dra baie gewig meer .....Peter Connan wrote:It pains me to say this, but this bakkie makes my GQ look like it's looking for parking...
