Russ, thats very interesting information. I will have a look at the numbers on the firewall.

Oom Herrie, die tyres gaan net n verskil maak op jou voertuig se spoed in realiteit. Die speedo spoed vs die revs gaan altyd dieselfde bly onafhanklik van die tyre groodte.

Die Patrol se standard bande is die 265x75R16 is die afstand dieselfde as die GPS s'n en dit wys die spoed 10km/h minder as die GPS en omdat ek nou die 285x75R16 bande op my Patrol het is die spoed net 3km/h minder as die GPS en die afstand is nou 4% minder as die afstand van die GPS!

Dis nes oom daar se
My Patrol met 305/70/16 bande op wys nou 2km/h stadiger as die GPS en my odometer 7% minder as die GPS.

Maar wat nooit verander het nie is my revs teenoor my spoed. Ek het met die standaard bande 2600rpm op 120km/h voor en na my band groodte verandering.

Does anyone know wheather the speed is measured from the wheel speed sensors or from the gearbox?

Michael, as jou ondervinding is dat jou revs en spoed nie verander het nie, dan reken ek moet die spoed vanaf die boks geneem word. Ek het 265's (31") vervang met 285's (amper 33"), en in my kar is dit nog steeds presies 3,000 rpm in vyfde op 120km/h.
My kombinasie is seker uniek weens die ombouing wat ek het, maar die punt is dat dit ook nie verander het toe ek groter bande opgesit het nie.

Ek dink dat al kry hy die leesing vanaf die wheel speed sensor gaan dit ook nie n verskil op jou speedo maak nie omdat hy nogsteeds net die omwenteling van die wiel gebruik ongeag die groodte van die wiel

Also I had a look at the diff in Tinus's bakkie yesterday vs the diff in mine..... huge differance in size. :surprised:

So if I had to bet money I would say that the ratio on the diff is where the only differance is.

Russ, I had a look on the plate on the firewall......cant see anything that points to the diff there. Will post a pic

Michael agter op jou patrol se ratkas ,net voor die propshaft hand rem drom ,sit die pickup vir die speedo. so ongeag van watter bande of diff ratios die voertuig het ,gaan die speedometer jou die selfde spoed aanwys.. :oldtimer:
Dis net op later model voertuie wat met ABS toe gerus is dat hulle spoed sensors gebruik om die speod te bepaal en waar die diff ratios ook die speedo lesing sal verander ,maar weer eens sal bande grote nie n verskil aanwys nie
Jy kan wel daai sensor op die ratkas uithaal ,die tande tel en dit vervang met een wat meer tande op het om die speedo lesing te verminder :think: :salute:
hoop dit maak sin......

Maak sin Errol en is 100% waar, ek het heeltemal daarvan vergeet dat seker modelle nie toegerus was met ABS nie.

Ek wou bloot vir interesandheid gister die verskil tussen my Patrol en Tinus sin se diff ratio's vergelyk toe ek sien hoeveel groter die pickup se diff is

Michael jy kry die H233 en H260 diff vir die Patrol agter albei kan egter dieselfde ratio he. Die groote bepaal nie die ratio nie. Joune en myne is 4.111 en sover ek weet die Bakie's ook
