Interesting, my original exhaust ran down the just off the inside of the chassis, not next to the propshaft. I stuck to that design and used the original exhaust mouts.

Re: 3.0 DI exhaust
Dis vrek baie werk.

Re: 3.0 DI exhaust
Tinus,
Teen 100km/h op 'n gelyk pad met lee voertuig.(Geen roofrak, draw system of so iets nie)
RPM - 2200
EGT - 520
Boost - 0.2

Re: 3.0 DI exhaust
Those EGT's are way too high for those rpm's and load.
I would think it should be around 300 deg C for that condition. Boost I'm not sure as the motor shouldn't be laboring so the boost will be quite low ( ok mine is a 4.2, but at 100Km/h on a flat surface mines at about 300 deg C and about 0.2 boost). Something isn't talking to something about how much fuel vs how much boost you are getting.....

Re: 3.0 DI exhaust
Paul, the boost is way to low and this is why the egt is still high.
It should boost at least 0.9 bar and spike to over 1 bar.
This can be two things, either that small 5mm stop screw of the VNT needs adjustment or the little vacum controler on the air box is not working propperly.
You can test this by bypassing that little bix and commecting that vacum pipe directly to the turbo.....if it boosts like mad its that box for sure

Re: 3.0 DI exhaust
Jou boost is jou probleem. Dis hoekom jou egt so hoog is.

Good way of testing it..
Please do not adjust on the thicker screw on the actuater. Adjust the small stopper screw at the back. This screw restricts the opening of the vanes of the turbo. Google Patrol ZD30 reference dok. It explains all about the VNT screw.

Re: 3.0 DI exhaust
I noticed something else today that I am sure can make a difference on the EGT's
When my Partol is cold and ignition is on, I see my gauge already displays 55 Deg.
Should I zero the gauge?

Re: 3.0 DI exhaust
55 deg C ??? I have a silly question. Is your EGT gauge registering deg Celsius or deg Fahrenheit ?
Mine shows an almost identical temp on the EGT gauge as is on the roof console outside temp. Do you have the correct fitting into the EGT gauge? there is a type "J" and a type "K".
But even by zeroing the gauge, that means instead of 500 odd deg you are sitting at 450 deg, which in my opinion is still too high.
