Guys,
Anyone have an idea what I'm supposed to get from a 1983 2.8 straight 6 Safari?

Re: Fuel consumption
It depends on a couple of factors.
Standard with no load and steady 110 to 120km/h it should be 5 to 6km/l
I have three of them fitted with 38 Weber and branch and hot cam. They can do up to 7km/l but the sound and power causes a heavy foot and it is always 5km/l. Two of them has 1.5 ton rigs bolted on and it can go as bad as 4.5km/l.
My early 84 model indicates 140km/h when the gps shows 120. The later models show 130km/h at a true 120.
All of them has 12.5x33x15 tyres.

Re: Fuel consumption
The owner claims 10,2km/l
They also say it has a 80l tank and as far as I know it should have a 90l tank.

NO ..that's not going to happen,if you an "oomie " or oldtimer that does his alcohol drives early mornings you might get 7 - 7.5 km/l in the freestate
but as bogeyman was saying the sound of that sixpack on steroids I reckon work on 5km/l average

Re: Fuel consumption
Now I wonder what else they are lying about. Guess that's why they want to sell it for R28k
