My 4500 GRX...
I finally found another Patrol, which will be used by my wife as her daily drive and also for family outings, doing long trips, etc.
This vehicle was advertised on this forum.
2000, 4500 GRX, 178k km's, OME suspension, replacement bumper, snorkel, roofrack - Got it for R105k.
Think it was a good buy.
Tinus weereens baie dankie dat jy na die voertuig gaan kyk het vir my.
Graham thanks for the quick inspection /adjustments you did on vehicle, and for the advise you have given me, I will bring the vehicle to you for a service in near future. Will let you know when.
Few niggles on the vehicle that need to be sorted:
Aerial (not standard arial) is loose,
Replacement bumper need to be loosened and moved a cm or two to the front - it is currently right against the vehicle panels and might cause damage here.
Rear sway bar extension bracket must be fitted, or rear sway bar must be disconnected.
Heat shield must be fitted to branches - or branches must be replaced with standard manifold. The heat from the branches is busy melting the plastic boxes in the engine bay.. (must add that the previous owner bought the vehicle with the branches installed and had the vehicle for 6 years/40k km's).
Irritating squeaky/rattle coming from back of vehicle - have not been able to pinpoint the source of the noise yet. Initially thought it was the jump seats, but I am not sure anymore.
The spring on the clutch pedal is trying to mimic a guitar every time you use the clutch, thought I fixed it but my wife just told me it is still making that sound...
There was Toyota caps on the rear wheels (*spit*) - luckily Graham supplied me with two Nissan caps. (You must still send me the invoice Graham).
Need to disconnect and chuck the dastek chip.
Disposed of the pink camo wheel cover - was this not Bulls attire at some stage
Need bigger (mud) tyres.
Need seat covers.
Otherwise I recon the vehicle is in perfect nic. Little scratch mark here and there, nothing serious.
Oh yes, and the bottom part of the replacement bumper is removable. Will remove it some time and see what looks better.
When driving the troll home from pretoria on Wednesday, I was in a hurry to get home, so drove quite hard - but still managed to get just over 5km/l.
So anyway, I now have two vehicles that does not fit into my garage....
P.S. does anyone have a forum sticker or two to donate me (with clear background)...?
(Tinus ek gaan van jou en Frik se prentjies ook hier plak. Het nog nie kans gehad om mooi foto's te vat nie).
