I can recommend the Waeco
We bought a 50 litre in 2004, it has not missed a beat since.
It seems like the design did no change much since either

JoshJ wrote:These waeco's are good value. But my Engel 40 is still the best thing I spent 5K on. Bought it 10years ago. Stil runs as good as the day I bought it and has never missed a beat. Only had to change the temp display battry once. :mytwocents:
I am a very big fan of the Engel fridges/freezers, but now days they are just to expensive. I dont think you will find a 50L one for under 9k

The Snomaster freezers is also very good and much cheeper - I bought my 60l (45l freezer and 15l fridge) some years ago for only R4200-00.

Yeah, the Snomaster is a brilliant fridge and good value for money. Their aftersales service is unbelievably good.

If anyone ever needs something anywhere in the country from Snomaster, let me know. A good mate of mine works for them and will always help out.

I agree Waeco freezers are good only problem in backup support. The controller on mine has give up the ghost  and now the compressor is running24/7 and thus not regulating the heat(reeze every thing the whole time :surprised: ). I'm struggling to find the support guess Outdoor warehouse is the importing agent now but if any of you know of someone we can contact to please send the number! On the Snowmaster's I must say my small 30L is great and works well for all the cold drinks and stuff I do not want to freeze. Support is also in SA thus local, I would also consider National Luna, but their prices are just as ridicules as the imports now.

Hi Phillip

Just make sure your Emergency switch is not ON - when knocked accidentally they tend to do that
