Re: auto or manual
Hey Errol, Ive had no problems with my auto box.
I go to Ponta do Ouro in moz a couple times a year and have never had a problem. The auto box performs well and in reality is no less capable than the manual gears of my old 4.5.
The real benefit of the auto is the pleasure of towing without having to do a couple of hundred manual changes while towing down to the coast. Just place it in tiptronic mode 4th gear and drive and relax. Call me any time if you want more info or just have a chat...
Enjoy!

Re: auto or manual
If you are going to go Petrol, Auto would be the choice. the torque convertor will help you not to dig in so often

Re: auto or manual
What will be the major difference using the new Diesel Patrol. (Less power, but will it really struggle a lot more to do the job?)

Re: auto or manual
The whole thing, trailer incl, runs at about 3,5tons (plus my luggage etc!).
Often I have around 6-700 kgs extra when I have 350litres of fuel in and all my provisions and tackle etc for Moz holiday (but I only refuel at close to the border with only 14kms on sand to go)

Re: auto or manual
WOW!
That's allot of weight, I wonder how many other 4x4 vehicles can handle it as well as a Patrol?
