It is a tough call for me which one to go for.
I am at a stage in my life though where I absolutely detest any form of debt.
I would rather drive an older car and be better off financially as a result. So that part of the decision is a very personal one.

But if the new shape of the 2008 will give you much more joy, and if you think you can get rid of the 3,200 p.m. at some point, (sooner than what the bank expects you to, which is probably 5 years), then the newer one it would be.
Both will last a very long time to come, provided the engine was not abused.

Thanks again for everyone's advice, I've made up my mind and will fly up to Durban on Wednesday to go collect my Patrol :blonde:

Jonathan, ek kyk elke dag rond en sien geen Patrols nerens in Langebaan nie, ek sal maar met jou moet kotak maak sodat ek nie te uit voel nie :biggrin:

Ek verstaan dat ek n GU Y61 Patrol koop, maar op die Tax Invoice van die handelaar staan daar ook (P64/P74)
Nou wat beteken daai nommers?

daai is reg. dis ook reeks nommers. ek het in 2013 myne nuut gekoop. hy het ge se GU Y61 en in hakkies p74. die versekering het ook die p74 kode gebruik. weet nie presies waarvoor dit staan. of is. maar joune is nie weird of fout nie :biggrin:

As jy n DIESEL oorweeg .. die 3.0 crd enjin van na 2007 is volgens Ozzies DIE Patrol om te hê [net om van vooraf n spennir jou wurx te goij :-) ]

Hi Oom Mac, ja hier is ek ook nou, gelukig was ek nog altyd n "petrol head" so Oom Mac se spanner is agter die wiel verby :biggrin:

Nou ja, aangesien my vrou baie meer fotogenies as ek is moes sy maar staan vir n foudie.
Hier is ons nuwe ryding, n 2008 4.8 GRX Patrol

Ek het van Amanzimtoti tot in Langebaan gery, (1740km) teen 130Km/h op die klok met Cruise Control (124Km/h GPS spoed) en het n brandstof verbruik gekry van 5.5 tot 5.7Km/L. Dit is beter as wat my 2.7 Hilux my gegee het so ek voel ek wen al die pad.

Paar dinge waaroor ek onseker is.

1: Die agter lig lense, hoekom is daar nie bulbs in nie. Die ligte in die agter bumper werk maar die ligte langs die agter deure het nie gloeilampe in nie en kan ook nie gloeilampte vat nie want daar is geen gate om dit in te monteer nie. Hoekom nie, wat gaan daar aan?

2: Die sleep haak agter. Ek het die voertuig gekoop juis omdat dit n GCM van 6.7Ton het en my 2 Ton boot mag sleep, maar ek sien die sleepstang agter het n SABS plaatjie op wat se dit mag net 1,100Kg sleep. Nou wat help dit my!!! Waar kan ek n haak kry wat oor 2Ton mag sleep?

Sodra ek meer vrae het sal ek dit op die werkswinkel draad vra.
