DIY storage/drawer system

Post by Nissan KingCab »

On Thursday we decided to go to Lesotho this week, that means that one project needed to be put on hold for another to be completed first.

That rear bumper will not be finished this week and the drawers/packing for the trip is more important.
The reason for building a drawer/storage is to keep things in their own compartment and not everything on top of each other.
Our previous trips we could fold down or remove the rear seat/bench to created lots of additional space but with a little one there now this is not possible anymore.

Let me start with a picture you all know very well: an empty Patrol boot.

At the halfway stage and with the long weekend almost over this is were we are at the moment.

The plan is to put our fridge on the left and the bottom right is for our tent and camping chairs. Just above that there will be a drawer for kitchen utensils and groceries. There is also space for two folding tables just above the drawer.

With the long weekend almost over I need to get back to my little project.

Tot later!

Baie netjies Danie,

net iets opvallends, jy moet net pasop om jou yskas te veel in te box. die goeters soek ventilasie anders word hulle warm.

After having returned from our trip to Lesotho, I had a chance to finish my storage system before we leave for Swaziland.
Now back from Swaziland I have a chance to update you guys on my little DIY project.

The first three photos are of the night before we left for Swaziland.

This photo was taken the morning we packed the car to leave Mbuluzi on our way to Mlilwane.
Top right the baby cot and next to it his bag (biggest bag for smallest person) on top of that the baby's mattress. Mom and Dad's clothes in bags next to it.
On the left in grey carry case is a compressor and a recovery rope on top. On the right our air mattress and pump.
The three bags on bottom are one tent and two camping chairs with two tables above drawer for food and kitchen utensils.
Behind the fridge is a 105Ah battery in a compartment and on top of that a gas bottle and water.
