Just an idea: might it be possible that the petrol starts boiling sooner as it would normally due to a too high amount of methan in it?

If I remember correctly, that was the reason quite a time ago why the fuel in my father's Daihatsu F60 was boiling in high temperatures. Due to the lower boiling point, the heat and a bit of underpressure in the fuel system he got boiling fuel.
We just had to stop for 10-20 minutes and were able to go again.

Well done Graham - Seems like the problem is something of the past. It was lekke hot (at some stage near Unions End temp went up to 44 degrees) in The Kgalagadi
No problem whatsoever with fuel boiling etc etc - I'm a happy camper :woo:
