hahaha.... Kobus, now you have the power of a 4.2 turbo diesel and soon you will get the same fuel consumption :rolling: :rolling:

but seriously, that is very good consumption from a simple PCV cleaning!!! Well done my friend, I'm sure there will me many 4.5's doing the same !!

Clem, you may just have a point there about your 4.8 still being new and not yet needing the PCV sorted out. It would be interesting to see on an older 4.8 if this also can make a difference... :think: ( Can't do any harm )

Kobus,

Ek het gewonder - ek het nog nie manual vir die 4.5 (sal maar ene by jou kry as ek jou eendag sien), en het nie 'n clue waar sit die PCV valve nie. Sal graag ook kyk hoe lyk myne / skoonmaak.

Dink jy jy sal maar foto of so ietsie kan pos van waar presies sit die ding ? O - en dalk ook bietjie inligting oor hoe om hom uit te kry om skoon te maak (indien daar paar "gotchas" is met die hele proses).

Dit sal waardeer word.

Het seker nog nie nodig om die valve by myne skoon te maak nie.

Het laas naweek met my 4.5 GL en karavaan van Howick na Hartbeespoort gery.

In Howick altwee tenks vol gemaak en weer in Hartbeespoort.

Branstof verbruik was presies 5.0km/l met A/C aan die heel pad. :woo:

Kobus,

Dankie vir die raad. Het hom vandag skoon gemaak. Hy was fieslik vuil.

Kom agter daar is alreeds 'n verskil in krag. Daar is 'n lastige ou bultjie om die hoek van my huis wat ek gewoonlik in 2de rat uitklim. Hy klim nou lekker in 3de.

Sal maar rapporteer oor petrol verbruik as ek 'n paar kilos op het.

Ek waardeer die raad en moeite. :)

Ek het Saterdag met die Patrol die Bridgestone Challenge gedoen en het nou vanoggend petrol in gegooi en my petrol verbruik was 4.90km/l - so dis nog goed!
