Clearly, you are the voice of reason. I appreciate the advice. After reading the post, I tend to aggree. If I'm not going to take the auto-locker, then I'll rather stay open. The prices of air-lockers are bizarre.

Thanks again

Johann.... I don't mean to put you off doing what you want.... but I would rather use that money for suspension upgrade, as the Patrol is very long and a 2 odd inch lift goes a looooooong way, and then some nice 33" all terrain tyres or even muddies,

There are a lot of guys here that would love a front locker..... me included..... but like the 12000lb warn winch I have in front of my Patrol, I have never needed to use it to recover myself, so it is a nice to have.... but not a necessity.

Good day fellows of the PATROL world ! For those of you wondering about front diff lock . I fitted an ARB diff lock for climbing up rock steps , cross axle situations , and deep mud , and also for wet rock traction (my safari has a very good limited slip diff in the rear). they do have their problems ! when your compressor goes down , and you can`t pump tyres or use air tools either . air leaks from stray sticks finding the air pipes ! They also break things like CV joints , and strip side shaft splines !(never reverse out of steep gullies with the front diff lock on !) So , yes guys , they do work well , just be carefull of HOW YOU USE IT ! NOW GO FOUR WHEELING for the fun of it ! BRETT .
Can we get rid of STUPID DRIVERS before they kill us ?

ek dink maak eers jou lsd reg en kyk dan of jy n locker gaan nodig kry..

As ek kon sou ek eerder n lsd voor in my Patrol wou gesit het :mytwocents: :mytwocents:

Hi Fanus

As per Wilkie... I would first get the LSD sorted.

If you have more trust in a Locker compared to a LSD than I would rather fit a locker on the rear wheels.

And if you want to go over the top than fit a locker to the rear wheels first and thereafter to the front wheels.
However that should be a locker which can be switched on and off manually.
