We have some real sand too in Mozambique. Up noth were it becomes like baby powder ...
Nothing as big as your area but still . When air gets trapped below and the sand speaks to you when you walk or drive on it...i found that .05 bar works best in those situations. ...
A set of 33 rubber helps to float better than the standard size but a tpms helps a lot to give you piece of mind ....they go for about 200 dollars . Less than 1 tire if you need to replace :mytwocents:

Can you post a link of TPMS system that you use and is realiable please. Also explain to me how this can save the tyre etc...I have not experience with it, and most of my buddies who drive in the sand don't either. Unfortunately all of our retailers/garages here have sales staff who don't go outdoors, and they could not tell you the difference between a hi-lift and a scissor jack.

I got some units that fits inside the rim on e bay or one off those sites . I will try and get the link for you
They send the pressure inside the tire and the temp back to the car every 5 sec so when you are driving at 12 psi or nothing it feels the same and you dont want to get out every 2min and pull a gauge out .
When your tire debeeds you know to stop and get your comptessor out to top up

I think the biggest advantage of a TPMS system is on the road to your destination, rather than in the dunes (although they will b useable there too).

A slow puncture when travelling at speed can easily cause a tire to overheat and fail before you feel it in a car as stable and comfy as the Patrol.
