Does anybody know where I can find a set of rear brake discs for the GQ?
No answer at Alfa's tel nr's. No answer at Powerbrake. Have not tried Ate, but tried almost all brake and clutch outfits in the East Rand. Or will I just have to wait until Monday?
During the search today, I tried a Land rover Discovery with the Powerbrakes fitted, and I am not impressed. Though it is not a like for like comparison as it was not a Patrol, the brakes only really starts gripping and working after about a second or two. The standard brakes started immediately and I never managed to work it until it faded nor did I ever manage to lock it up on first application, even in harsh Transkei cattle braking. And then you are locked into the expensive pads, apart from having to fork out the expensive number at the beginning.

Re: GQ brake discs
Thanks Herrie,
Actually, it was at Litts that I got the front disc pads (rear ones from Star Brake & clutch in Edenvale) but Litts could not find the Patrol discs in any of the catalogs, They want a sample.
But I will call Willem and ask him to investigate.
Regards

Re: GQ brake discs
Depends on the taxes for import from Germany: I can get EVERYTHING here in germany for a low price.
One brakedisk is around 800 rand.
Transport with DHL is around 560 Rand.
If you speak a little german, you can check prices under www.daparto.de and transport www.tomba-express.de
