Bumper Parts Code
Who can assist? I am based in Namibia and am now returning to South Africa and want to bring my Nissan Patrol (2013; GL; 3ltr, diesel – picture attached) back with me. One of the problems I have is that I have to get a SA National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS) Letter of Authority. I have established that my Patrol does not comply with SA vehicle standards. Unfortunately I have Japanese specifications tail light units - which are not acceptable (I also have to swap safety belts).
I have been told I have to get the “SA model” Patrol bumper with the light units in them. Unfortunately Nissan SA cannot find my Patrol’s VIN number on their system (it's on the Japanese system) – so they claim that they cannot figure out what bumper I need to get as they cannot access the part code (seems bizarre).
Does any one have any idea as to what the Nissan parts code is for this bumper? (see picture of the silver – no number plate Patrol). Are there any Patrol owners in Namibia that have upgraded their rear bumper and have one to sell. Any other ideas as to how I can solve this problem? I have attached a picture of my Patrol.

Re: Bumper Parts Code
Hi Mark
Try to contact David Volschenk +27 83 4 9 9 one five 88. He got some Patrols and Safari's he striped. I think all will be pre-facelift models, but it might work. Also I think a replacement bumper like ARB, EFS or the likes might be cheaper than the Nissan one. You can look at one of these.
I am sure one of the 3.0 guys will get a quite for you.
Beat of luck.

Re: Bumper Parts Code
How long do you have from arriving here to presenting the vehicle for scrutineering?
Surely one can find a forum member who will swop bumpers for a week or two?
On the other hand, as far as I am concerned the plastic bumper is almost a liability. Maybe consider a steel bumper?

Re: Bumper Parts Code
Tinus, I think those tail lights on his Patrol ( white one ) are fine for SA as the top I assume is indicators ( orange globe inside ) and revers and brake and tail tights at the bottom.
I see 2 options..... first option is to get yourself truck taillights ( possibly LED ones ) and cut 2 holes each side and mount them in. Wiring harness runs right there and you may need to splice into the wires unless you can get a plug to match. Second option is to get that bumper from Etienne straight swap over and possibly even direct plug in of wires.

Re: Bumper Parts Code
OR get the standard taillight from the older ISUZU bakkie set in the bumper [less the R100 each] .. cut to fit in bumper at back .
Or go as Rictser suggests .. the LED round lights are GOOD looking [see the rear bumper on Herrie op Safari se UNGILI]
you can even go as low as just firring those teenager puisie liggies off a Landrammel ..
