Re: Diesel vs Sparks
This would've been a great opportunity to challenge the CRUISERS like Grant [or somebody] suggested some time back .. ???

Re: Diesel vs Sparks
Why would we want to challenge cruiser. This is a Patrol thing.
I have been on many trips with my cruiser buddies and even gtg with the cruiser club. My troll has gained a huge amount of respect from them and the all say that our patrols are probably better built than there except for the hand grenade engine.
Many of the outings have been to Moegatle where we do serious obstacles. With no lockers I manage to keep up with then on all the obstacles.
As for your cruiser Oupa Mac, most of the cruiser club consider it SWAMBO,s car. not a real cruiser

Re: Diesel vs Sparks
Mr Grant .. now why would you think it a good thing to insult me ?? YOU are the one that started the idea of a PATROL / CRUISER match .. then you asked Julius to find a suitable place for such .. now that I bring it up I am the idiot ??
And on top -- I am NOT proposing or suggesting that this meeting become a "cruiser" match -- I only commented that the nature of this GTG would make for a good competition between the two makes.
The Prado stayed with all the Patrols on RDW mountain trail .. and everybody KNOWS the Prado is not a full fledged Cruiser ..
It is all I could afford, therefore I drive it. Unless you can find me a Patrol with less than 5000 Km for 150 K ???

Re: Diesel vs Sparks
Forum event.
The moffie cruiser already has penalties bestowed on him.
Have no interest to involve cruisers. Remember we will be participating in the WOMZA rally, and the class will be Nissan Patrols.
Will be working on a sled design tonight.
Final arrangements will be issued on Friday.
Regards

Re: Diesel vs Sparks
In fairness, there is not much wrong with the Prado. Only that it is not a Patrol. If I could get one at the price Oom Mac has, I would also buy it.
Oom Mac is one of the big contributors on this forum and a big Patrol fan. When I was still new on this forum his house an heart was open to a practical stranger to help - even that ot got late was no problem.
Maybe we owe it to him to cut him some slack about his Prado, which is afterall a circuimstantial aquisition, not dictated by choice.
Last night i was helping a friend woth some minor ossues on his 3.4 Prado - maybe not as potent a off-roader, but certainly a great dual purpose vehicle.
Look forward to see you there next weekend, be it with a Prado or a wheelbarrow - does not matter!

Oupa Mac,
Seems like the old age home is not doing you well. Just stirring the pot maar lyk vir my jy sukkel biekie met ons. As i said the Prado is not a real cruiser, for lie a Urban Cruiser.
As for the price, that was a once off. Oopa Mac chill biekie en moenie soo kwaad raak nie, dit is nie goed vir you hart nie.
